Biography

Ray Caponi is responsible for Facility Management and strategic operational oversight for T5FM’s East region, which consists of a mix of T5-owned enterprise and retail data centers plus numerous Fortune 100 third-party enterprise data centers around the country. With over 28 years of real-world operational and construction experience building, operating and managing mission-critical facilities across wide geographic regions, he has a proven track record of success leading teams to operational excellence and100% uptime. Ray is a technically skilled and highly capable problem solver, expert relationship and team builder, mentor, negotiator and operational strategist.

Prior to joining T5FM, Ray held various leadership positions at many of the nation’s top companies, managing large enterprise-level and colocation mission-critical facilities in the banking, finance, insurance, and transportation sectors.

Throughout his career he’s been heavily involved with the construction of ten new data centers (greenfield and existing shell) totaling more than 50mW, in addition to countless critical infrastructure upgrade and capacity expansion projects. He has extensive experience managing the full spectrum of operational assessments from the Uptime Institutes Management &Operations (M&O) and Operational Sustainability (OS) platforms, as well as other customer-required audits. Ray has a well-documented record of success in the data center world and a true passion for promoting best-in-class operational-excellence at all levels, with an emphasis on empowering teams to perform at their highest level.
